Throughout the history of civilizations, empires existed. All fell one way or another, but a lot can be said about the subtle discontent that slowly eroded the core of society and became a totality unto itself; Imperialistic socialism. Broken down, it is a socialized society led by a government that controls every aspect of society with the mantra that “all are equal”.
The lower classes (the poor) that benefit from welfare, subsidized housing, etc. pay no taxes or very small amounts due to their income. The upper classes (the rich), who some believe should shoulder most of the tax burden in society, appear to pay a large amount of taxes, but this is a mere illusion since they are protected by tax loopholes and/or countless offshore accounts among others. So where does this place the brunt of the tax burden? On the middle class, who, by the way is the driving force of small business.
The majority of people that want a hand out from the government on everything are stopping the evolvement of society. They weaken the core and therefore destabilize the country on the whole. No one, at this point, will accept any responsibility for anything, expecting a hand out from the government. There is no incentive to move forward, no feeling confident in a job well done.
